About Us

Atherton Hough Elementary School is a welcoming and inclusive school community that has been serving the children of Hough's Neck since 1911. We are proud of our school's history and celebrate our core values of responsibility, safety, and respect.

Our school is named after Atherton Hough, a well-respected political and religious leader who came to America in the 17th century. Hough was elected assistant to the governor of Massachusetts in 1635 and allotted 600 acres of land that later became known as Hough's Neck, a neighborhood of Quincy.

Today, Atherton Hough Elementary School is a vibrant and diverse school with a student body of 255 students in grades K through 5. We offer a rigorous academic program that prepares our students for success in middle school and beyond. We also offer a wide range of extracurricular activities, including music programs, educational field trips, clubs, athletics, and arts programs.
